A glimpse of what My Local Food Market has to Offer:

I love the vibe I feel whenever I visit the market. I love picking and choosing my own fruits and vegetables for the week. I love when I hear them shouting out, "Bananas, bananas bananas bananas bananas...rhubarb rhubarb rhubarb"...over and over again like a broken record. I love how friendly the farmers are and how they take the time to say hello and thank you. I simply love my Market.
If you've yet to view my previous photos of my local Market, I hope you will take some time to do so.
It's best to visit on a Tuesday as you can visit both the outdoor and indoor market. There are not only lovely fruits and vegetables on sale but you may also find yourself purchasing a few antique items, cookbooks, plants, and clothes.
Submitted to A Scientist In the Kitchen. If you would like to share food photos of your market you have until March 1st to do so and I hope you will!!!

Well Pixie, at least now we know you couldn't possibly have any "home movies" in the closet! lol
The video's fine and I share your love of the open market.
It's not enough that I'm married to a sarcastic bugger but now also have you Pete to insult my technical abilities. LMAO
Thanks. ;)
I've never seen a rhubarb before... I wonder how it taste like...
Your market looks lovely but I don't know what a rhubarb is. I don't know how you managed to upload your video but I tried once and since it takes a lot of time I never want to try again.
Great pics Pixie - the rhubarb in particular looks gorgeous.
I'm jealous--there's no market to be found where I live. Looks like a bit more fun than the grocery store. ;-) And you've reminded me of my plans for a strawberry rhubarb pie...
I love your video. Well done. Our farmer's markets will begin again in the spring and I can't wait.
...great video - that rhubabrb looks delicious!
I have tagged you - details are on my blog :)
What great pics Pixie! I really am taken with your fab market and look at that wonder colour of your rhubarb. :D

I can't wait for the local markets to open up for the season. Nice pictures.
How lucky you are! I like to buy my vegs and fruits from local market too. Just like you, I like to pick my own vegs and fruits.
I stay near to Borough Market but I just don't like it there. It's too pricey and it's a tourist spot!
You've got really fresh and nice Rhubarb!
I am sure you are gonna be really busy in the kitchen :)
Love it. They're always selling somthing "two baut a pund" in markets. WHat that is, of course, noone knows...
Ivy- It took about 5 minutes to upload and it is a short file so I can understand your frustration.
mike- Be sure to submit your rhubarb to A slice of cherry pie's event!
Thanks again for everyone passing by and leaving such kind comments.
Ohhh, I'm wailing (internally) with longing at that pineapple, though I don't know where you got the sunlight for that picture from seeing as we're in deep frost up here D=. Local markets are gorgeous...
It looks like you got a bunch of good stuff at the market. I recently found some forced rhubarb at the farmers market and picked it up to try. I used it to make a crisp/crumble. It was quite nice.
I like your video! I wonder if the older lady carefully picking her rhubarb knew you were filming her? I'm also insanely jealous you have a market. Nothing like that anywhere close to me.
Hey Pixie, love it, and the video is nice... short, but nice :D
I love also all veggies and fruit pictures... very nice!!!
Great-looking market, Pixie. And looks like you stocked up on some scrumptious goodies.
I envy your access to such a lovely market. My local one is really tiny (well, it is a small town) although it does have good seasonal varieties. Thank goodness for the quality grocers here too.
Thanks for highlighting the food market blog event. I'm about to write a post on the Chinese new year market in Singapore so this is really timely!
Thanks for the lovely photos of your market - looks like you have quite the bounty to choose from!
It's hard to imagine fresh local produce today when we have snow falling.
Love the video and your pictures of the market. Inspiring! GOD, it's snowing in Brooklyn right now and, although it's beautiful, in my mind, spring can't come any quicker. Your pictures are reminding me of what's to come when growing season is ahead!! YAY! -amy @ We Are Never Full
